The Sprint Challenge began on August 16th with qualification rounds. Eight drivers from each qualifying round will earn a spot in the championship beginning on September 9th. Like previous events, the PESCP will be held using the iRacing simulation racing platform.

Jędrzej Stęszewski, Director of European Operations at ESE Entertainment, spoke on the deal in a release: “PESCP 2021 promises to be exciting: a new platform (iRacing) and above all a new format, which is the first step in shaping the racing ecosystem of the Polish Digital Motorsport Championship.

“The Polish Automobile and Motorcycle Federation has trusted us, and we plan on surpassing their expectations. The experience gained over the previous season will allow for further activities at a higher level. We are very pleased to continue cooperation with Porsche Poland and raising the profile of the esports brand of Porsche.”

This isn’t the first instance of ESE Entertainment getting involved in sim racing. In May, the company signed a letter of intent to acquire Irish esports infrastructure company Digital Motorsports.

Esports Insider says: Over the past 18 months, interest in sim racing has skyrocketed with a number of car manufacturers and racing teams entering the space. Porsche has a strong esports presence and as it hosts another Polish event, utilising ESE is a sure-fire way of promoting the event to a wider audience.
