Esports Player Foundation names Fabian Broich as Head of Sports
The Esports Player Foundation (EPF), a non-profit organisation, has named EXCEL ESPORTS’s Head of Performance, Fabian Broich, as its Head of Sports.
With the help of Broich, the EPF aims to further develop its health and fitness activations. The foundation currently offers development programmes for esports talent, such as scholarships and financial attributions.

Some of EPF’s programmes include professional training and coaching; physical and mental fitness; and nutrition and lifestyle advice.
Broich will still remain as EXCEL ESPORTS’s Head of Performance.
Via a post on LinkedIn, the newly appointed Head of Sports commented: “I am really excited to support the Esports Player Foundation as their Head of Sports. I am able to implement my expertise for the further growth and development of this great cause.
“The EPF is a unique construct, being a non-profit organisation that enables talent in esports in order to create the role models of tomorrow is a mission that fits with my philosophy. Simply here to make sure that the female and male gamers reach their goal to make it into professional esports.”
Prior to joining EXCEL, Broich gained experience as Assistant Coach and Team Manager for Danish esports organisation Astralis. In this role, Broich focused on esports athletes’ sleep, diet, physical activity, vision and mental training.
Broich also worked in a similar role within FC Schalke 04, before its LEC spot sale, supporting its League of Legends, Pro Evolution Soccer and FIFA teams.
Over the last 12 months, a variety of esports organisations have started focusing on health and fitness. Earlier this year, EXCEL ESPORTS partnered with fitness company Eleiko to help prepare its LEC team. Moreover, Gravitas and FC Schalke 04 Esports also participated in sleep studies to improve player health and wellness.
Esports Insider says: Broich has gained valuable experience through his previous roles, which will strengthen EPF’s mission to create the ‘role models of tomorrow’. These appointments also help raise awareness and bring attention to issues such as mental and physical health within esports.
